This is an attack on humanity and democracy.

When Paris turned out their lights, the rest of the world turned theirs on. State buildings were lit up in the French Flag  colours to show solidarity with the people of Paris…beautiful!

Ireland’s Rections

National Marches and prayer vigils all over Ireland.

Taoiseach Enda Kenny has described the Paris attacks as “an appalling and horrendous attack on the free world”. He  dubbed the events of last night “the blackest of Fridays” and “a senseless act of murder and mayhem”

“The assistance of the world is available in any way we can help, ”Enda Kenny.

President Michael D Higgins also released a statement expressing his condolences to France.

“On behalf of the Irish people and on my own behalf I offer deepest sympathy through president Hollande to the people of France on this dreadful loss of life and appalling injuries.”

“All of our thoughts are with the people of France as events unfold”.

Meanwhile Jean-Pierre Thébault, the French Ambassador, extended his gratitude to the Irish people for their support expressed so far.
