It makes me cry to think that we put people (both men & women) who have committed crimes into what can only be described as holiday camps, when the poor young girls and women in the Magdalene laundries have been put through hell for so long for merely getting pregnant out of wedlock in some cases.
They need an apology and their requests granted NOW.

Mary is wonderful and a most interesting person – there is a programme about her on the BBC at the moment

This book upset me in so many ways, another way of saying it is great. Even though I wasn’t sure at times if I wanted to keep reading (I was afraid of what would be found out!), my hat goes off to Gillian Fylnn because only a master of craft can bring up so much emotion!

The one thing about Tolkien, I have always thought, was his attention to detail. He describes the landscape in such detail, and everything about the hobbits in such detail my brain becomes over loaded with detail.
