Always And Forever Abstract
Katie Bowen and Ronan O’Hanlon were born in neighboring households in Glen Valley in 1968 in rural Tralee, Co. Kerry. They grew up together even shared a baptism ceremony in the small church andeven attended the same secondary school. They were both farmers’ kids who were very naïve and innocent. They were childhood friends but it developed into a special friendship. They drifted into a relationship. Ronan asked Katie to be his partner at his end of school ball in the 1980s but it went terribly wrong. He got drunk and did something dreadful.
Ronan decided to win Katie back but she was dating Alexander, Tralee’s most eligible bachelor. After a number of extraordinary acts like going on radio, Ronan serenaded her at night and sang One Way or Another I’m Going To Getcha as well as her favorite songs. He wrote her love poetry and published a letter of apology in the local paper so she decided he had suffered enough and dated him again.
They dated for fourteen months and then realized this was the real deal. They loved each other and marriage was on the cards. They married and had a three wedding day party and everything was perfect for years but as they left the poor days pass fate blew them a cruel blow. Can anything good come of this and can their marriage survive this? Is marriage for ever? A bitter sweet tale of how life cannot be planned and love comes when we don’t expect it and in different forms and shapes.
